BIO

LEAH SIMONE SCOTT is a writer, director, and producer from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She graduated summa cum laude from Howard University and earned her MFA in Film with a concentration in Creative Producing from Columbia University, where she was a Lenfest Fellow. Since, Leah has held numerous media internships and externships with organizations including National Geographic Partners and United Talent Agency. Most recently, she created content for the Democratic National Committee as a Rapid Response Video Editor for @KamalaHQ during the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.
Leah has written and directed two short films and produced twelve. Her short film Love Bites (writer/director) premiered at the Newark International Film Festival, while Down’s Paradox (producer) won the Audience Award at the New York Short Film Festival. Her thesis film, The Last Summer (writer/producer) earned a Columbia University Leone Family Production Grant and premiered at the 2024 New Orleans Film Festival. It has received multiple accolades, including Best Short Film and 2nd Place Grand Prize at the HBCU First Look Festival and the Audience Award at the Columbia University Film Festival.
